(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 18) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team will host their first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Triangular this weekend. The Bearcats will compete against No.9 Quincy University at 11:00 AM and William Jewell College at 7:00 PM, on Saturday, Feb. 20.
Nickie Sanlin's team is 0-4 (0-4 in GLVC) entering into this first GLVC Triangular weekend. In their last time on the court, the Bearcats came close in the three-set loss to Southern Indiana. The Bearcats fought with a .083 hitting percentage with 31 kills on the afternoon.
Colleen Preusser (St. Charles, MO/Lutheran) led her team offensive and defensively, marking eight kills and 10 digs.
Alexandria Muschong (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock) ran the net with five blocks and added six kills.
Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) added 13 assists, along with eight digs and one service ace.
About No.9 Quincy University
No.9 Quincy will enter this week at 5-1 (3-1 in GLVC), coming off a two-game winning streak. They swept Lindenwood in three sets in Saturday, following a three-set sweep over Maryville on Friday evening. The Hawks control the first set by limiting the Lions to a -.107 hitting percentage; kept a comfortable three-point lead throughout the second set; and played more back-and-forth scoring in the final set. About William Jewell College
William Jewell will enter this weekend at 5-0 (0-4 in GLVC). The Cardinals were swept in three sets to No.10 Drury Friday evening. The Cardinals started out slow in the first set but were able to snap a 10-0 score run by the Panthers; came within two points late in the second set; grabbed momentum and took a four-point lead in the third set.
