(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 24) – The No.13 McKendree University men's volleyball team will face their highest ranked opponent so far this season, No.3 Lewis University. The Bearcats and the Flyers will compete in the Neil Carey Arena on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 PM.

Nickie Sanlin's team is coming off an impressive two-game sweep over Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) rival Quincy University. The Bearcats went 3-1 in the first match Thursday evening, recording 57 kills with a .290 hitting percentage. They followed that performance with a 3-0 set sweep the following day, recording .338 hitting percentage and 38 kills. The Bearcats are 7-0 (6-0 in MIVA), averaging 12.0 kills per set with a .301 hitting percentage, and 2.8 blocks per set.

Lewis is 8-1 (3-1 in MIVA) so far this season, after a comeback win over Purdue Fort Wayne in five sets Saturday afternoon. The first two sets belonged to the Mastodons, 28-26. The final three sets were won by the Flyers and their ability to halt the Mastodon's offense. In both the third and fourth sets, the score was tied until the midway point, where the Flyers would go on scoring runs to extend their lead.
