The No.8 McKendree University men's volleyball team will begin its Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) road series, starting with two games with Loyola University Chicago. First serve is scheduled for 5:00 PM on Thursday, Mar. 18, and again on Friday, Mar. 19 at 7:00 PM in the Alfie Norville Practice Facility.
Nickie Sanlin's team is coming off their first loss of the season, splitting the two-game series with No.5 Lewis University. The Bearcats still sit atop MIVA with their 8-1 (7-1 in MIVA) record. As a team, they are averaging 11.9 kills per set with a .287 hitting percentage and 2.7 blocks per set.
Patrick Ross (Anthem, AZ/Boulder Creek) leads his team with a .268 hitting percentage and currently sits eighth in the conference.
Lucas Galifos (Mokena,IL/Lincoln Way East) continues to lead his team and the conference with an average 1.42 blocks per set.
Francisco Comas (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley) leads the Bearcats' defense with 2.32 digs per set, third overall in the conference standings.

Loyola improved to 9-3 (5-3 in MIVA) after a 3-1 set win over Purdue Fort Wayne, Friday night. The first two sets of the match went into an intense 30-28 final scores, the first match taken by the Mastodons and the second set taken by the Ramblers. Back-to-back kills from the Ramblers would secure the third set 25-23. To close out the fourth set, the Ramblers tallied the final seven of eight points for the 25-22 win, and the match 3-1.
