The McKendree University men's soccer team fell in heartbreaking style to Southwest Baptist 2-1 in Bolivar, Mo. on Sunday.
How It Happened
Things started off well for McKendree on the road.
Gonzalo Correa (Santiago, Chile/Athletic Study Center) netted his first goal of the season in the 38th minute to give the visitors the 1-0 lead.
Southwest Batist would respond with a goal at the 57
th minute to tie the match. The game would stay tied for and looked like the game would be heading to extra time. Southwest Baptist had other ideas and scored the game-winning goal with just 40 second left in the game.
With the loss, the Bearcats drop to 3-3-2 on the season.
