The McKendree University women's volleyball team had its second matchup of the season with University of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon, and closed out its regular season road games. The Bearcats move to 5-9 (5-9 in GLVC) after dropping three sets with the Greyhounds (25-15, 25-18, 25-17).

McKendree's back row did a good job of covering their hitters to try and give their offense a second chance during long rallies. The Greyhounds' good court awareness helped them take the first set 25-15.

UIndy came out strong in the second set to take an early 6-1 lead. Unforced errors and missed serves hurt McKendree when trying to close the point gap. A kill from the outside would finish the set for the Greyhounds 25-18.

McKendree's back row did not slow down during off-speed and out-of-system balls that came their way. UIndy put up a big block, forcing the Bearcats to be smart when going up for the shot. Another kill from the outside would give the Greyhounds the set win 25-18, and the 3-0 match sweep.

The team recorded 35 kills with a .070 hitting percentage. Colleen Preusser led the way for both teams with 15 kills, adding in six digs. Both Claire Diercks and Brianna Binder recorded five kills each. Binider also recorded five digs, while Diercks had one block. Amanda Tippett led the defense with 14 digs, and Gracie Marr recorded 18 assists.

Nickie Sanlin and her team will be back in the Harry M. Statham Center for their final two games of the regular season.
