It was a dominating performance by the McKendree Bearcats football on Saturday afternoon in Lebanon, Ill. The Bearcats' offense outgained the Quincy Hawks 315-159 and rolled to a 30-8 victory.

Things started quickly for the Bearcats. After taking the opening kickoff McKendree went straight down the field in nine plays capped off by a
Turner Pullen one-yard run. The Bearcats defense then took its turn and held the Hawks to just 18 yards in the first quarter.

The second quarter once again saw the Bearcats outscore the visitors. It started with a safety to extend the lead to 9-0 and the half was capped off with a 65-yard touchdown pass from Pullen to
Jacob Bachman.

The third quarter saw the defense get on the scoreboard.
Shelby Benn would recover a fumble and rumble into the end zone from 25-yards out. Bachman would round out the scoring for McKendree with another long touchdown reception. This time was from 60-yards.

Turner, the defending GLV Freshman of the Year, threw for 144 yards and a touchdown. The Bearcats had eight different receivers catch passes led by Bachman who ended the day with six catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns.

Peyten Chappel led the defense with seven tackles and on tackle for a loss. Collin Olla-Chatman was second on the team with five tackle and 1.5 tackles for a loss.

McKendree will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. next week to take on the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds.Â
