The McKendree University women's water polo program had a weekend of play in Erie, PA within the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Conference. The Bearcats were defeated in all three games.
Game 1 Highlights
The Bearcats dropped to Gannon University 13-11 in their first game on Saturday morning.
Emily Westlove took the lead in team scoring with five goals.
Carley Manuel and
Alivia Garcia each contributed two goals. Meanwhile,
Abigail Burton and
Courtney Smith netted one goal.
In the cage, senior
Isabella Strimling made 8/21 saves.
Game 2 Highlights
McKendree wrapped up Saturday evening game day with a 11-5 loss to Mercyhurst University.
Once again, Westlove lead the team with scoring three goals.
Shoshana Scanlon and
Maddy Bolton each netted one goal.
Strimling made 14 out of 25 saves.
Game 3 Highlights
The Bearcats were defeated 16-9 by Salem University in the Sunday morning game.
Westlove and Garcia each registered three goals for the Bearcats. Smith followed closely behind with two markers and Bolton had one on the score sheet.
Strimling stopped 11 out of 24 shots on goal, and freshman goalie
Rio Tomlinson made her debut.
