The McKendree University baseball team was defeated by the No.10 Lindenwood Lions in both ends of a double header on Saturday afternoon in Lebeanon, Ill. The opening game of the day saw the Lions win 7-3 followed by a 8-7 victory in the second game.

Game One
The Bearcats got the scoring going early with three runs in the first.
Bryce Emery had the big hit of the inning when he connected bases loaded double which cleared the bases. Lindenwood would answer back quickly with three runs of their own to tie the score. The Lions would take the lead in the fifth inning and would not look back taking game two, 7-3.
Andrew Yancik started the game on the mound for the Bearcats, and pitched five 1/3 innings while surrendering five hits.

Ryan Hutchinson scored at least one run in the last four contests.

Game Two
The Lions were the first to strike in game two, bringing in two runs off RBI singles. McKendree would answer in the bottom half of the third, when Hutchinson took the Lions deep for his fourth home run of the season to bring the Bearcats within one.
The Bearcats would tie and take the lead in the fifth inning with a
Corey Price RBI single that brought Hutchinson across home plate.
Hayden Schaefer would give the Bearcats a 3-2 lead following an RBI double, and proceed to score later in the inning via wild pitch.
The Lions responded with a six-run sixth inning to take back their lead, 8-4.
In the bottom of the seventh, after the two batters for the Bearcats reached base successfully,
Connor McCormick would blast a three-run home run to bring the Bearcats within one with no outs. The Bearcats would continue to threaten the entire half inning, culminating in a double play with the bases loaded to end the game.
