The McKendree University women's lacrosse team improved to 7-2 following today's 13-12 win over Rockhurst University.
 
How it Happened
 
McKendree fell behind early to the Hawks, who scored first six goals of the game. The Bearcats got on the board for the first time with eight minutes left in the first half when Aly Curran found the back of the net for the first time this season off an assist from Jess Morey. The Bearcats would score one more goal in the half but enter the break down.7-2.

The Bearcat offensive came out firing on all cylinders to start the second half, scoring the first five goals of the second half to tie the game up at seven. Sarah Hardin led the charge, scoring three of the goals, with two coming off Rockhurst penalties.

For the rest of the half each team would trade goals with both teams not being able to pull away from one another. Kat Albrecht would help tie the game with two assists and proceed to score two goals within a minute of each other to give the Bearcats a two-goal lead with five minutes to go.

-Albrecht and Hardin led the team with four goals apiece and Sydney Tiemann scored three, while going 2-2 on free position shots on the afternoon.
-Goalkeeper Clara Andrews recorded seven saves on the afternoon.
-Brittany Koch forced a season high three turnovers and picked up two ground balls.
