Albrecht Sets School Single Game Point Record in Rout of Quincy

Junior Midfielder Kat Albrecht set the McKendree women's lacrosse single game point record with 13 points following Wednesday's 24-5 win over the Quincy Hawks.

How It Happened

McKendree wasted no time getting their offense going in the first half, jumping out to a 10-2 lead within the first 10 minutes of the contest. During the run, Albrecht and Rylee Skachenko each contributed three goals. The Bearcats would keep its foot on the gas and by the end of the first half, McKendree had opened up a 17-3 lead.

McKendree kept the pressure on right out of the gates in second half, with Jess Morey getting the Bearcats started within the first minute off a free position shot. In the second half, the Bearcat defense would hold the Hawks to four total shots, fail seven clears and commit 13 turnovers.

With 30 seconds left, junior midfielder Albrecht would find Morey to record her 13th point of the contest, which would break the previous record of most points in a single game. The previous record holder was Dana DiPasquale who recorded 12 points against Findlay on April 10th, 2016.

-Sarah Hardin won 11 draw controls on the afternoon, eclipsing the 10 she won earlier this year against Rockhurst on March 14th.

-McKendree record 12 assists, with Albrecht accounting for nine of those, compared to the Hawks one.

-The Bearcats winning margin of 19 is the largest of the season, and largest since the Bearcats defeated Ashland University 25-2 on April 5th 2019.
