The McKendree University baseball team split Friday's series opening double header against the University of Indianapolis with the Bearcats taking game one by a score of 10-1, but dropping game two 8-1

How It Happened
Â
The Bearcats would take the Greyhounds deep in the opening half of the first inning when
Corey Price drilled a two-run shot to right field. The Greyhounds would respond with one run of their own to make the score 2-1 after one.
It would be all Bearcats from this point on, with
Connor McCormick driving one run home in the second inning, and
Hayden Schaefer adding two more to give the Bearcats a 5-1 lead.
In the fifth and sixth innings,
Jordan Richardson and
Ryan Hutchinson would each rip two run home runs, and Hutchinson would drive one more in the eighth inning to make the score 10-1.
Jared Timmerman recorded his fourth win of the season after throwing a complete game, giving up five hits and striking out six, while only throwing 80 pitches.

Andrew Yancik would take the mound for the Bearcats and only last two innings after surrendering 6 runs in two innings.
