The McKendree University women's soccer team enters this weeks United Soccer Coaches poll ranked No. 8 in the nation.
The Bearcats moved up six spots from their pervious ranking of 14 from the past United Soccer Coaches poll.
The ranking is the highest in the program since making the jump to the NCAA Division II level back in 2012.
In addition, McKendree is the highest ranked team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in the poll.
"It's a great honor for our program and it's great for our school. The players have definitely earned it, they've put the time and effort in, and they just keep battling. We saw it last weekend with a dramatic win over Maryville and a tie over a very good Lindenwood team. We just have to keep doing what we're doing and stay atop the GLVC. It doesn't win you win the conference title or conference tournament, but it's a great honor to be ranked in the top 10."
