The No.13 McKendree University men's volleyball team will begin its postseason as the No.3 seed for the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Tournament. The Bearcats will host Purdue Fort Wayne in the first round of the tournament on Saturday, Apr. 10, at 7:00 PM in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
For the first time in program history,
Nickie Sanlin's team is seeded at No.3 heading into the MIVA postseason. No.13 McKendree improved to 10-5 (9-5 in MIVA) overall, after a two-game split series with Ball State University. The Bearcats took Friday night's game 3-1, where
Ethan Carroll recorded a season-high 16 kills with a .636 hitting percentage. The following night, the Bearcats were defeated 3-2, where
Ryan Serrano matched his career-high 48 assists,
Patrick Ross matched his career-high 15 digs, and
Wyatt Dimke tallied a season-high nine kills.
No.13 McKendree enters the postseason at No.3 in the country for blocks/ per set with 2.906, and No.9 in digs per set, with 9.42. Individually,
Lucas Galifos is ranked No.2 in the country at 1.509 blocks per set. Galifos continues to lead the MIVA in blocks per set, while
Francisco Comas still sits in the No.3 spot with 1.98 digs per set.

Purdue Fort Wayne enters the post season as the No.6 seed, with a 6-8 (6-8 in MIVA) overall record. The Mastodons dropped their final match of the regular season 3-2 to Lindenwood Saturday night. In the Bearcats' last meeting with the Mastodons, Ross recorded 16 kills and Galifos set a season-high 11 blocks, to help their team to the 3-0 sweep. For more information about the Mastodons, click
