The McKendree University women's lacrosse team improved to 6-2 on the year following Fridays win over the Maryville Saints by a final score of 22-5.
How It Happened
The Bearcats pounced on the Saints early and often, opening a 5-2 lead in the first 15 minutes of play. Senior
Rylee Skachenko and sophomore
Sydney Tiemann each contributed two goals in this span and graduate student
Kayla Smith assisted on both of Skachenkos goals.
At the end of the first half, the Bearcats would lead 10-5 and would not look back.
The Bearcats would add another 12 goals in the second half while its defense would hold the Saints scoreless for the rest of the game.
Multiple Bearcats would get on the score sheet in the second half. Tieman added another two goals, senior
Sarah Hardin would add three goals of her own, and
Jess Morey would net two.
On the afternoon, seven Bearcats would find the back of the net.

- Smith would pace the Bearcats in points on the afternoon recording one goal and six helpers to give her seven points.
