Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville, Ill./SWIC) to keep the Cardinals at bay.
"It takes a lot to win on the road and it took a lot tonight. I thought we weren't as sharp as we could be on the offensive end, but that's a credit to William Jewell," said McKendree first-year head coach
George Suggs after the game. "It got tough, but I thought our guys came together and did a great job executing down the stretch."

Once again, WJC responded with a 6-2 run to cut McKendree's lead to 51-48, but two free throws by Hensler, a lay-up by Bultman and a trey from Stephen with 6:32 remaining gave the Bearcats a 58-48 lead.
