LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's soccer (5-4-4, 3-3-3 GLVC) dropped its home stand-opening contest to Missouri S&T (4-5-4. 3-2-4 GLVC) on Friday night, 3-0. The Bearcats remain in-line for a Great Lakes Valley Conference postseason berth following the league's Friday slate. McKendree will be back at Leemon on Sunday afternoon against Drury.
McKendree and Missouri S&T both fired just six shots each through the 90-minute outing with S&T firing and scoring all three of their on-frame shots. The Bearcats were unable to break through the Miners' back line consistently, putting just one shot on goal. McKendree did dominate in its attacking half with eight corner kicks earned, providing a myriad of scoring opportunities.
S&T broke the 0-0 tie just under 20 minutes into the game, taking a 1-0 lead into the half. The Miners fired two more scores in the second half as well.
