EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The McKendree women's rugby team scored a season-high 50 points in their win against the University of Southern Indiana this past Saturday.
Six different Bearcats scored in the match as McKendree's record improves to 5-0 following the victory.
McKendree's scoring efforts were led by freshman
Camille Ross (O'Fallon, Mo./O'Fallon) with four tries for 20 points on the day. Freshman
Lavinia Ika (Kahului, Hawaii/Maui) hit five conversions to add 10 points.
Freshmen
Anissa Ferrer (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West),
Jessie Deane (St. Louis, Mo./Fort Zumwalt West),
Elise Johnson (New Baden, Ill./New Baden), and
Rachel Staresinic (Stoney Creek, Ontario/St. John Henry Newman) all tallied one try each for the game.
Ultimately, the Bearcats would outscore the Screamin' Eagles 50-7 in the Saturday afternoon 7's match.
McKendree women's rugby will play next at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., next Saturday, Oct. 29.
