LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's soccer (5-4-5, 3-3-4 GLVC) plays out its final regular season weekend with a home and an away contest as they host the No.24 Maryville Saints and then head to UMSL. The Bearcats hold a spot in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament but will look to hold their spot or move up in the league standings in the final weekend of play. McKendree will host the Saints at 7:30 PM on Friday evening before traveling across the metro for a Sunday afternoon bout with the Tritons at 2:30 PM.
THIS SEASON
The Bearcats have gone back and forth throughout the conference season as they drew and dropped last weekend at home. McKendree has played to a tie overall with opponents this fall as they have scored and allowed 15 goals on the year. The offenseive side has been led by freshman forward
Stephan Stuebbe, who has seven goals for 14 points this fall. Two others have multiple goals as freshmen
Gabe Hallsten and
Dayton Strattman each own a pair on the 2022 campaign. Sophmore midfielder
Philipp Schmidt has dished-out six assists to rank second on McKendree in points (6) this season.

Matt King each have seen major time at the starting spot. The combo owns a 1.07 goals allowed average with 33 saves and a save percentage of 0.688 and four shutouts.

The Saints enter the final weekend of play and their final regular season game after getting a win and a draw last weekend. Maryville sits atop the GLVC standings with a postseason position locked up already. The Saints have been led by Victor DeGiorgio and Tim Smith, who each have five goals and 13 points while Cedric Sengl owns 13 points on four goals and five assists. The Saints boast 13 goal-scorers this fall so far. The net has been defended by Albert Escuin so far who has 12 starts with a goals allowed average of 0.54 with 17 saves and six shutouts.
The last meeting between the Saints and Bearcats was in the 2021 GLVC Quarterfinal round with it ending in a draw before Maryville moved on via 10-9 penalty kick win.

The Tritons begin their weekend hosting Indianapolis on Friday before playing host in the regular season finale against the Bearcats. UMSL played to a draw with the Saints last Friday but dropped the two contests prior. UMSL's attack has been led by Leo Sowa, who has 16 points behind six goals and four assists while Arman Kovac owns 12 points with five goals and two assists. The net for the Tritons has been held by Austin Reis, who has a goals allowed average of 1.45 with 51 saves and a save percentage of 0.718.
McKendree too the last four meetings including the 2021 fall matchup, winning on a 3-0 count.
