LEBANON, Ill. - No.13 McKendree University women's soccer (12-0-4, 8-0-3 GLVC) remained unbeaten but was unable to collect the win over Maryville (8-2-6, 6-0-6 GLVC), as the Saints fired the equalizer in the 89th minute. McKendree maintained its unbeaten status on the year with the draw as sophomore forward
Gillian Nicholson scored her first goal of the fall during the conference contest. The 13th-ranked Bearcats will be back on the pitch for their final regular season contest at Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, October 23 at 12PM.
McKendree faced a tough battle in its home finale with an unbeaten in the GLVCÂ team coming to Leemon Field. The Bearcats out-shot the Saints 16 (7) to 6 (5) while earning five corners. Maryville, looking to clinch a conference tournament quarterfinal opportunity, fired a late goal to pull the draw.Â

Reagan Mauch dishing-off a pass to Nicholson, who proceeded to drive forward. The sophomore Nicholson fired the shot from just inside the box, which glided over the Saints' keeper. It marked the first score by the sophomore this fall, moving her point total to three this season.
The Bearcats held off the Saints for the remainder of the first half, holding the 1-0 advantage into the intermission.Â
The Saints pushed hard in the second half, gaining multiple opportunities in their attacking half. Maryville broke through with a goal in the 89th minute of the game, tying the outing at one goal a piece.Â
Neither squad could find the back of the net in the final two minutes to claim victory.
Senior
Abby Tucker held net for the Bearcats with four saves and one goal allowed.Â
Junior forward
Anna Stiffler led the attack with eight total shots and four on-frame while Nicholson connected for the lone goal.Â
