MARIETTA, Ga. – The McKendree men's rugby team played their second game of the fall season this past weekend at Life University in Marietta, Ga.
The Bearcats suffered a 63-0 to the Running Eagles in the Saturday afternoon match. Although no stats were kept, the player of the game was
Elijah Wheaton for McKendree.
"Obviously a tough result, but I believe it's good to expose our program to a powerhouse rugby team like Life," said head coach Cam Wyper.
Despite the setback, Wyper stays hopeful for the future of the program. "[Life] has been at the top of college rugby for some time and it will only help develop our program in the years to come. There were plenty of positives to take away from the match and we'll go back to the drawing board before our match-up against perennial National Champions, Lindenwood."
The Bearcats will be back in action on Nov. 5 at Lindenwood University at 6:00 p.m.
