Women's Soccer Rises in United Soccer Coaches National Poll

Bearcats move to 17th in the nation following first round GLVC win

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - McKendree University women's soccer (13-0-5, 8-0-4 GLVC), the two seed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament and sole unbeaten team in the Midwest Region, bumped up in the latest USC National Coaches Poll to 17th nationally after coming at at 19th last week. The Bearcats added another win to their arsenal, beating the GLVC seven seed, Indianapolis, this past Sunday in teh quarterfinal round of the league's tournament. No.17 McKendree will be seeking a GLVC Tournament title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament this weekend, beginning with the GLVC semifinal round against three seed Maryville on Friday, November 4, at Leemon Field with a 5 PM kickoff. 

The Bearcats continued their undefeated slate in the 2022 campaign with an opening round win over the Greyhounds on Sunday, October 30, beating UIndy 2-1. McKendree entered the GLVC's postseason championship tournament following its first undefeated regular season since the program's establishment in 1996. 

McKendree will see where it sits for the national tournament and midwest regional on Wednesday afternoon (November 2) when the second set of the NCAA Regional rankings release.

GLVC TOURNAMENT - CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
No.17 / #2-Seed McKendree women's soccer will be back in action on Friday, November 4, at 5 PM against the #3-Seed Maryville at Leemon Field. The Bearcats remained as the highest seed following the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament and received hosting duties with their quarterfinal victory. Leemon Field in Lebanon, Illinois will play as the host for the semifinal and final rounds of the GLVC women's soccer tournament.
