LINCOLN, Neb. – The top-ranked McKendree University women's bowling continued its hot play here at the Big Red Invitational on the second day of the event as the Bearcats remain in second place in the tournament hosted by the University of Nebraska and held at the Hollywood Bowl.
After going 5-0 on the first day of action on Friday, the Bearcats went 4-1 on the second day of the event and posted a pinfall of 5,562 in Saturday's traditional games and has recorded a total pinfall of 11,184 and an average of 223.7 per game through 10 matches. The Bearcats are right behind Nebraska, who is in first place with an average of 225.3 per game and in front of No. 9 Youngstown State, who is in third place with an average of 216.7 per game.
On Saturday, all the eight teams at the event bowled five traditional games and McKendree had two of the top five individuals as junior
Rebecca Hagerman (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) was second with a total pinfall of 1,175 across five matches and averaged 235.0 per game and recorded 200 or better in all five matches, including a high of 253 against Quincy, while graduate student
Cassidy Courey (Brooklyn Center, Minn./Mount Mercy) was fourth overall with a total pinfall of 1,153 and averaged 230.60 per game and had 200 or better in all five matches, including a high of 244 against No. 7 Arkansas State.
With their performances, Hagerman and Courey were each selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Arkansas State's Emma Stull was the top individual finisher as she tallied a total pinfall of 1,193 and averaged 238.60 in five matches and had a high of 257.

Kayla Smith (Salem, Ill./Salem) was 11th on the individual leaderboard following a total pinfall of 1,118 and an average of 223.60 per game and three matches of 200 or better, including a high of 249 against both Valparaiso and No. 25 Central Missouri. Senior All-American
Hope Gramly (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) was 15th overall with a total pinfall of 1,102 and an average of 220.40 and had 200 or better in four of five games, including a high of 247 against Valparaiso.
McKendree began Saturday's action with a position round game against Valparaiso as the Bearcats claimed a 1,114-1,031 win, before facing Quincy in the second game and posting a 1,090-845 win over the Hawks.
The Bearcats would then suffer a loss in its third game against Arkansas State as the Red Wolves posted a 1,147-1,108 win, before earning wins to conclude the second day against No. 22 Wisconsin-Whitewater (1,089-1,033) and Central Missouri (1,138-982).
Bowling will resume on Sunday morning beginning at 8:45 a.m. with best-of-seven Baker-format games as the Bearcats will start the day against No. 3 ranked Nebraska and then will face Quincy in Sunday's second match.
