CEDARVILLE, Ohio - McKendree University men's soccer (2-0-1) continued its unbeaten streak to start the year with a 0-0 draw at Cedarville. The Bearcats tied their best start in the NCAA era with the tie to remain unbeaten to start the year. The zero goals allowed marks a third-straight shutout for McKendree. The Bearcats return home for their next outing on Saturday, September 3, at Leemon Field against CBU at 2:30 PM.
The first half ended with a zero-zero gridlock between the Bearcats and Yellow Jackets with four shots by McKendree and five by the host Cedarville. The Bearcats tallied shots from midfielders senior

Anthony Swenson faced five shots by the host, with two coming on-goal from Cedarville, saving both.
The second half proved to play out in a similar manner to the first 45 with the Bearcats opening up strong and controlling play early. The hosting-Yellow Jackets also held control for periods throughout the half but McKendree more than doubled shot attempts of Cedarville in the half. The Bearcats put up seven shots in the final 45 with two on goal while the host fired just three with one on frame.
McKendree totaled 11 shots with three on goal as eight players fired at least one shot with freshman forward
Stephan Stuebbe send two of his three on goal.
In the net, Swenson (2-0-1) guarded another clean sheet with three saves on eight total shots faced.
