LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's soccer (2-2-1, 0-1-0) was unable to come back for a win against Lewis on Friday night during its Great Lakes Valley Conference opener, losing 1-0 to the Flyers. McKendree returns to GLVC play on Sunday to take on the No.25 Indianapolis Greyhounds at Key Stadium.

James Martin led the Bearcats attack with three shots each while four other Bearcats fired one shot a piece.
The Flyers and Bearcats were gridlocked at 0-0 at the end of the first 45 minutes with consistent possession changes throughout the half. Lewis came back in the second half, owning possession early on and scoring the lone goal in the 50th minute. Lewis took a 1-0 lead through the end of the game.
The goal by the Flyers was just the second score allowed by the Bearcats defense this fall.
