Luis Edmondson scored his first collegiate goal. McKendree will be back at home for its next pair of games on September 30 versus Truman State and October 2 against William Jewell.
McKendree wasted nearly no time in the opening moments of the game, earning a corner kick in the first minute. The corner was taken by junior defender
Matteo Schubert, who fired it to the back post. Edmondson fired the ball, which bounced over the keeper for his first collegiate score.
The Bearcats held off the Stars for the first half, taking their 1-0 lead into the intermission period.
UIS fired the equalizer in the 49th minute off an aggressive offensive attack, making the game 1-1. The remainder of the game proved to be a battle with the matchup ending knotted up at one goal a piece.
