LEBANON, Ill. | Leemon Field - McKendree University women's soccer (8-1-3, 4-1-3 GLVC) added three points in the Great Lakes Valley Conference on Friday evening with a 1-0 win over Truman State on its home turf. The Bearcats were pushed to the win with a late goal by senior forward
Anna Stiffler, her sixth of the season. McKendree celebrates senior day in its next game on Sunday, October 15 as its plays host to GLVC-newcomer Upper Iowa.
The Bearcats and Bulldogs battled early but McKendree controlled possession throughout the contest late. In the first half, the contest proved to be tightly contested between the squads with two shots in both directions.
The Bearcats found a stride in the second 45 mintues with nine shots on-frame and three corner kicks. McKendree broke the ice with its score in the 74th minute as freshman midfielder
Maggie Gleckler dropped in a corner kick cross, which was headed deeper into the box by junior defender
Maria Voss. Voss' header was corralled by Stiffler, who fired it into the goal. McKendree held off the Bulldogs in the remainder of the game while still threatening in their own attacking half.
McKendree added its second-straight win while extending its home regular season unbeaten streak to 19 games, dating back to the 2021 campaign.

McKendree returns ot Leemon Field on October 15 for a 12PM kick-off against Upper Iowa. Sunday will also be senior day for the Bearcats.
