Olle Ridelius each fired goals in the shutout. McKendree finishes out its regular season road slate on Sunday with a matchup at UIS against the Prairie Stars at 2:30PM.
McKendree broke through the Hawks' defense early with a fifth minute score as Hynes gathered a pass from sophomore midfielder
Gabe Hallsten and fired it into the net. The first score and game-winner was Hynes' second goal of the year. In the 25th minute, the Bearcats found a gap once again, gaining a penalty kick chance following a foul in the box. Hodgson took the penalty attempt and found the net, marking his first goal since his freshman year in 2019. The Bearcats led 2-0 at the intermission period.
McKendree found another insurance score in the 62nd minute of the game as Ridelius recorded his first collegiate goal off a dish-out by senior defender
Matteo Schubert. The Bearcats finished out the game with the 3-0 result.
Freshman goalkeeper
Christian Herluf added another shutout to his resume while collecting two saves in the victory on the road. The result was the eighth shutout of the season for McKendree and sixth of GLVC-play.
