CHESTERFIELD, Mo. - McKendree University men's soccer (5-1-4, 3-1-2 GLVC) played to back-to-back draws in GLVC play with a tight battle against the No.24 Maryville Saints on Friday afternoon, ending 0-0. The Bearcats have drawn the last three games with the Saints, as the matchup in 2021 and 2022 both ended in 1-1 ties. McKendree will be back in action against Missouri S&T in Rolla on Sunday, October 8.
McKendree pushed hard in the first 45 minute of action with six shots compared to the 24th-ranked Saints' single first-half attempt. The Bearcats and Saints battle throughout to try for an advantage but the first half e nded with zero scoring and just two corner kicks.
In the second half, McKendree and Maryville went back-and-forth with possession, as just five shots were taken, bringing the game total to 12. The Bearcats tallied to only two corner kicks of the contest.
