HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - McKendree Univerisity baseball (0-2) was unable to capture its first win of the season on Saturday, dropping its second Arkansas game to Ouachita Baptist, 10-2. Chyran Cruse both blasted solo home runs as the sole scoring for McKendree. The Bearcats are right back at it on Sunday, taking on host, Henderson State at 11AM in Arkadelphia.
McKendree and OBU were scoreless in the first four innings but Ouachita quickly broke the null game with four scores in the fifth inning. The Tigers dropped a single in to take a lead over the Bearcats before hitting a three-run homer after the initial run of the fifth inning.Â
The Bearcats managed to get one back on the sixth as Paule launched his first homerun of the year to left field, making it a 4-1 game. The homer marked his second hit fo the weekend as well.Â
The Ouachita offense did not slow in the sixth as the Tigers added two more runs in the bottom half of the inning to lead 6-1. OBU then continued its string of hits with four runs in the seventh to own a 10-1 lead over the visiting-Bearcats.Â
Cruse blasted his home run beyond left field in the top of the eighth, ending scoring from all parties in the contest. It marked Cruse's second hit, extra base hit, run scored, and run batted in of the season.Â

Garrett Herring took the loss for the Bearcats after tossing four-scoreless innings to start the game. He totaled 4.1 IP with three strikeouts.Â
