O'FALLON, Ill. - McKendree University women's water polo garnered its sixth straight win against Carthage College on Saturday afternoon as the program celebrated five seniors on for Senior Day. The graduating seniors include Danielle Borelli, Abigail Burton, Jaleh Moaddeli, Katelynn Rodrigue, and Shoshana Scanlon. With the win, the Bearcats improved to 6-4 on the season.
The 16-4 win marked the sixth consecutive game that the Bearcats have scored 14 or more goals as they posted a 4-0 record at the Macalester Invitational last weekend, including a season-high 21 goals against Caltech.
Offensively, 10 Bearcats scored one goal or more, led by Burton and Borelli with three goals each in addition to Scanlon and sophomore center Sofia Dominguez with two goals apiece. Moaddeli topped the assists and steals with six and five, respectively.
Junior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Kasper held the net for McKendree, recording two saves and one assist in the win.
Up next, the Bearcats travel this week to California for a six-game outing. McKendree kicks off the series with a 1:30 p.m. PT game against Westcliff University and a 7 p.m. PT game against Concordia University (Calif.) on Thursday, March 2.
