SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – The Bearcat softball team hit the road for the final day of the regular season with a doubleheader at UMSL Softball Field against the Tritons of University of Missouri – St. Louis. McKendree slugged their way to a game one win by the score of 8-0, but dropped the nightcap of the doubleheader 7-1.
Game 1
The second pitch of the game thrown by UMSL starter Ashley Borowitz was sent over the right field fence by Lauren Harris to put the Bearcats up 2-0. The score would remain the same until the top of the 3rd. After a Harris triple with 2 outs, Olivia Stansbury hit her conference leading 14th home run out to right center to make it a 4-0 game. Just three batters late, Macy Brown singled to right field to bring home Skyler Davis and Reagan Cheely.
In the top of the 6th, Harris would blast her 2nd home run of the game out to center field that made it 8-0 in favor of the Bearcats.

Game 2
McKendree could not keep their momentum from game 1 into the 2nd game of the doubleheader. Stansbury got the Bearcats on the board in the top of the 1st with an RBI single to center field.
The Tritons took the 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning. They would score 6 more runs throughout the game to pick up a split.

Up next for the Bearcats is the GLVC tournament in East Peoria, Illinois. The tournament will be hosted at the Eastside Centre starting on Thursday, May 4th. They have earned the 3 seed in the tournament and will open up against the Lewis University Flyers at 5:30 p.m.
