LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's volleyball is set to close out its regular season schedule with two Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association matches on the road at Quincy University on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Lindenwood University on Saturday at 5 p.m. The Bearcats sit at a 6-13 overall record and a 1-11 record in the MIVA.
In MIVA standings, McKendree currently ranks seventh heading into the regular season finales. Offensively, the Bearcats are led in kills by freshman opposite side hitter Bryce Wetjen who averages 3.30 kills per set to rank 37th in the nation. Defensively, redshirt junior Kyle Wilson tops with a set average of 1.67 digs while freshman Rolen Lively sits 15th in the nation at 1.02 blocks per set. As a team, McKendree is 10th nationally in assists per set at 11.61.
Quincy sports a 7-17 overall record and a 0-12 mark in the MIVA to rank eighth in the league. The Hawks are led in kills by Raje Alleyne who ranks third in the nation with 4.23 kills per set. Topping the digs is sophomore Dominik Waigel at 1.82.
Earlier in the season, McKendree defeated Quincy at home, 3-0.
Lindenwood holds a 9-11 overall record and a 6-6 record in the MIVA to rank fifth in the conference. Freshman Ian Schuller leads in kills and ranks 48th nation while senior Kyle Deutschmann is 14th at 2.14 digs per set. Senior Rayshawn Bonner tops the blocks at with a .930 set average. Senior AJ Lewis is eighth nationally, firing .514 per set.
Before facing McKendree, Lindenwood will host Lewis on Thursday.
Following the Bearcats' regular season schedule, the MIVA tournament will begin on Saturday, April 15.
