ROLLA, Mo. – Looking to get back on the winning track in conference play, the Bearcats hit the road to take on the Miners of Missouri S&T on Saturday, January 6th. Behind 19 points from junior forward Milos Vicentic, McKendree snapped their three-game GLVC losing streak by defeating the Miners 71-63. This was McKendree's first win in Rolla since December 3, 2020.
Supporting Vicentic in scoring was Carson Parker who had 17 of his own on 7-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Caleb Zurliene collected his fifth career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bearcats took care of the ball in the contest as they tied their season low in turnovers with nine, while forcing 12 Miner turnovers. That resulted in the Bearcats holding the edge in points off of turnovers at 15 to 7.
McKendree shot 29-of-62 from the field for 46.8%. For just the fourth time, the Bearcats did not have double-digit free throw attempts as they went 5-of-9 from the charity stripe.
They will remain on the road as they travel to the University of Missouri – St. Louis on Saturday, January 13th with tip scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
