LEBANON, Ill. – The Bearcats will remain at home for their second of three straight games at home in the middle of the season. They are welcoming in the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats.

Series History
McKendree and SBU have competed in nine previous games. Last season, SBU took the game in Bolivar by the score of 24-17.
Scouting McKendree
McKendree enters week six with an overall record of 2-3 (1-1 GLVC). Last week, McKendree fell to Quincy by the score of 34-10. The lone touchdown was to Yogi Flager, Jr. who is now tied with Matt Cole for the program lead in receiving touchdowns.
On the season, quarterback Ty Michael is 93 of 179 for 1,052 yards and four touchdowns. Flager has been his top target with 27 catches for 428 yards, while finding the end zone twice. On the ground, redshirt sophomore Eddie Clark has 102 carries for 407 yards and six touchdowns.
Redshirt senior Andrew Sherry sits in the top 10 nationally for solo tackles with 33 of his 42 total tackles. Damien Hatten leads the team with 6.5 TFLs for 26 yards.
Scouting Southwest Baptist
The rushing game is still led by the two SBU sophomores Jobe Smith and Jeremiah Horn. Smith has a net of 305 yards for the year for 61-yards per game. Whereas Horn is averaging less per game but nearly 2 more yards per attempt.
Redshirt Freshman Jahaad Fort has moved himself into one of the top Bearcat defenders tying for the most total tackles with 22. He also has three tackles for loss of 16 total yards, two sacks, and two break ups. The SBU leader in break ups is sophomore Levi Korir with five on the season and also 3rd in the GLVC. He tags along 18 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble.
One of the specializations of the Bearcats is their ability to score in the red zone. So far this season they are one of six teams in the Nation to have scored each time they have made it to the red zone.
