FINDLAY, Ohio – The McKendree men's golf team joined a loaded field at the 2024 Doc Spragg Invitational hosted by the University of Findlay. The field of 19 teams endured 54 holes of golf on October 14th and 15th at Findlay Country Club. In the field were fellow GLVC schools in the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Maryville University and the University of Indianapolis.
After a seven spot improvement in the final round, the Bearcats finished in 11th place with an 890 (302-298-290). The Grand Valley State University Lakers won the event with an 840 (278-281-281).
Senior Thomas Tollefsen led the way for McKendree with a 218 (76-70-72) to finish in a tie for 22nd. Trystan Du Plessis jumped up the leaderboard by 29 spots in the final day to finish in a tie for 27th with a 220 (76-74-70). Sophomore Aidan O'Keefe tied for 66th with a 228 (76-76-76). Griffin St. Pierre shot a 229 (77-80-72) to tie in 71st place. Hata Iemkanitchat rounded out the McKendree lineup with a tie for 81st by shooting a 233 (74-78-81).
The Bearcats will remain at home next week as they host the Bearcat Dual Gender on October 21st and 22nd at Far Oaks Golf Club.
