CASEYVILLE, Ill. – The Bearcats stayed at home this week as they hosted the Bearcat Dual Gender tournament at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois. The 54-hole event consisted of 10 teams on the par 72 layout over the 6,847 yard course.
Fueled by three top five finishers, the Bearcats "A" team won the event by 12-strokes by shooting a total of 855 (290-283-282). The next closest competing team was Maryville with an 867 (290-290-287). McKendree also entered a "B" team into the event and they placed in 10th with a 928 (311-300-317).
Senior Thomas Tollefsen led the charge with a second place finish by shooting a 210 (68-73-69). Hata Iemkanitchat was three shots behind his teammate for a third place finish with a 213 (75-68-70). Rounding out the Bearcats making the all-tournament team was Trystan Du Plessis with a 215 (75-69-71). Griffin St. Pierre tied for 6th with a 217 (72-73-72). Aidan O'Keefe rounded out the McKendree "A" team with a tied for 36th finish by shooting a 231 (77-78-76).
The "B" team was led by Kyle Peck who tied for 26th with a 229 (77-77-75). Thierry Boucher was five shots behind him and tied for 41st with a 234 (78-75-81). Matthew Wood tied for 44th with a 236 (80-77-79). Pe Nontarux finished in a tie for 49th with a 238 (83-71-84). Edgar Betoret de Salazar rounded out the "B" team with a 53rd place finish by shooting a 242 (76-84-82).
Josh Belzer competed as an individual and finished in 55th place with a 256 (85-82-89).
