INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | Key Stadium - No.7 McKendree University men's soccer (9-0-6, 6-0-6 GLVC) escaped a close-call on Sunday afternoon, drawing at Indianapolis (RV) behind a 90th-minute goal. The Bearcats were down until the final minute when freshman defender
Philipp Muehlhans fired his second career score to knot the game at one goal each, keeping the Bearcats unbeaten on the year. McKendree returns to its home turf for its final pair of regular season contests, hosting Quincy on November 1 and Upper Iowa on November 3.
McKendree pushed heavily in the first half, firing 11 shots with three on-frame. The Bearcats went down in the 44th minute of the first half as UIndy found the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage going into the intermission.
The second half saw an even harder push from the Bearcats with 15 shots and eight on-goal, which saw the Greyhounds succumb in the closing minute. McKendree earned a corner kick with just 12 seconds remaining with freshman forward
Paul Norberg sending the ball into the box. Norberg's corner found the head of Muehlhans, which was then sent into the back of the net to tie the game.
McKendree remained unbeaten on the season with the draw against the Greyhounds (RV) while sophomore goalkeeper
Christian Herluf collected five saves in net.
