ROLLA, Mo. - No.23 McKendree University women's soccer fell in a road battle on Sunday afternoon, 2-1, against the Miners of Missouri S&T. The Bearcats were unable to capitalize on a handful of opportunities to put the game into a draw, dropping the one-goal result. McKendree gets back to its home field for its next three games with two major games over homecoming weekend on October 11 and 13, facing Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis. McKendree then hosts Illinois Springfield at Leemon Field on October 18.
McKendree looked to get a clean weekend with its match up against Missouri S&T, going up 1-0 in the seventh minute of the Sunday afternoon contest. Freshman forward
Maddie Mauch fired the score to put the Bearcats up 1-0 over the Miners. Missouri S&T evened the game in the 27th minute, with the intermission period arriving behind a dead lock at 1-1 between the squads.
Missouri S&T managed to find the back of the net once more in the second half to take the game, 2-1, over the Bearcats.
