ROLLA, Mo. - No.9 McKendree University men's soccer (8-0-2, 5-0-2 GLVC) added another shutout victory on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Miners of Missouri S&T, 2-0, behind a strong second half performance. The Bearcats were led from both ends of their field with freshman forward Adam Reiniger firing both goals in the win while sophomore goalkeeper Christian Herluf put up a wall for McKendree, recording his 21st career shutout. McKendree gets back on its home turf, Leemon Field, next weekend with matchups against Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis on October 11 and 13. 

After a first half resulting in a nil-nil score between the Bearcats and Miners, ninth-ranked McKendree pushed through to get the advantage and eventual victory over S&T. The first half saw eight McKendree shots, including five on-goal wwith three corners earned by the Bearcats. 

In the 59th minute, McKendree broke through with freshman forward Adam Reiniger finding the back of the net off assists by junior forward Chris Moore and freshman midfielder Matthaeus Hirschmann. Holding a 1-0 advantage was not quite enough for McKendree and the Bearcats then put another one in the goal in the 67th minute. Reiniger was again on the receiving end of the ball, blasting it into the back of the net for his second goal of the game and season. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Christian Herluf got his 21st career shutout in goal, grabbing four saves in the road win.
