LEBANON, Ill. | Leemon Field - No.12 and 3-Seed McKendree University men's soccer (12-0-6, 8-0-6 GLVC) punched its ticket to the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinal with a 1-0 defeat of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday evening. The Bearcats used a second-half score by senior defender Matteo Schubert to put the game in their favor and add a second consecutive appearance in the GLVC semis. McKendree face the 2-Seed, Maryville, on Friday, November 15 at 4:00PM at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex for a berth to the title bout.

Neither squad could break through in a back-and-forth first half of action, as the Bearcats and Tritons went into the intermission at nil-nil. In the second half, McKendree battled its way through in the 68th minute as Schubert fired his shot into the back of the net. The Bearcats held off the Tritons for the remainder of the high-intensity game for the 1-0 victory. Sophomore goalkeeper Christian Herluf collected yet another shutout in the contest while grabbing three saves.
