LEBANON, Ill. - The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) has revealed their weekly winners for November 13th, 2024, with sophomore center Yannick Robertson (Trinidad and Tobago) collecting Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.
Last year, Robertson obtained the WWPA Offensive Player of the Week on October 3rd, 2023, making this award number two for the sophomore.
"Yannick has been an offensive force for our team all season" said Head Coach Colleen Lischwe. "His contribution at both ends of the pool has gone unmatched and we are excited for him to have earned this honor."
The Trinidad and Tobago native was the leading punch for McKendree in WWPA Bearcat Clash this past weekend despite the two losses. He put in four goals and took away the ball three times in the early matchup against scorching Salem University. He ended the day and the clash with a team-high five goals and a career-high in drawn exclusions with six, plus a steal against Gannon University.
Robertson finished third in this year's tournament in total goals and goals-per-game with nine and 4.5 respectively. He also was tied for ninth in the weekend for steals with two.
As of today, the sophomore is sixth in the conference in total goals scored on the season with 55 and is fourth in goals-per-game at 4.1. He needs only two more goals to notch 100 career goals in his young collegiate career.
