No.12 Men's Soccer Tabbed as 2-Seed in NCAA Super Regional, the Program's Highest Seed of DII-Era

The Bearcats host the 7/10 matchup on November 22 before taking on the victor on November 24

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | NCAA - 12th-ranked McKendree University men's soccer (12-0-7, 8-0-6 GLVC) earned its way to the No.2 Seed in the NCAA Super Regional for the national tournament, placing them in a first-round bye while hosting their possible adversaries in an 7/10-Seed neutral site game on November 22. The Bearcats then will play host to the victor of the first round contest on November 24 at Leemon Field, where they will look to move onto the Round of 16 for a second consecutive season. McKendree played host in the first round last season at Leemon Field, taking on Southern Nazarene, with the Bearcats exiting the game victorious on a 1-0 final.

McKendree makes its third overall and second consecutive national tournament appearance after reaching the GLVC Championship Semifinal and owning an unbeaten season so far. The Bearcats ended the regular season 11-0-6 with an 8-0-6 conference record, marking the first unbeaten regular season in program history. Prior to the semifinal, six Bearcats earned All-GLVC honors with two major awards behind senior defender Matteo Schubert as the league's Defensive Player of the Year and sophomore goalkeeper Christian Herluf as the league's Goalkeeper of the Year. Schubert and Herluf each were named Second Team All-GLVC along with freshman midfielder Matthaeus Hirschmann and freshman forward Adam Reiniger while senior midfielder Philipp Schmidt and freshman defender Philipp Muehlhans led the way with First Team All-GLVC selections.
