LEBANON, Ill. | Leemon Field - 14th-ranked McKednree University men's soccer collected its first unbeaten regular season on Sunday with the 2-0 victory over UIU, finishing the regular season slate at 11-0-6 overall and 8-0-6 in GLVC play. The Bearcats were led to victory by freshman forward 
Adam Reiniger, who fired both goals, and sophomore goalkeeper 
Christian Herluf, who set the program mark for shutouts with 25 in his career. McKendree plays host in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament quarterfinal with the win as it earned the three-seed and will play Missouri-St. Louis on November 10.
McKendree battled for a program-first in its final regular season game of the campaign and came away with a strong victory going into postseason. The Bearcats took the lead in the 12th minute as Reiniger collected a pass from freshman defender 
Pablo Pola and sent it into the back of the net. McKendree held a 1-0 advantage going into the halftime intermission. 
In the second half, Reiniger and the Bearcats battled through to put in a late goal in the 85th minute to solidify the win. Sophomore defender 
Bailey Winchurch send a cross into the box which found Reiniger, who then fired his second goal of the day. The Bearcats held off the Peacocks for their first unbeaten regular season. 
The victory also marked Herluf's 25th career shutout, marking a new program record as he passed former standout keeper Alvaro Cortazar who collected 24 over his four seasons in net.
