LEBANON, Ill. | Leemon Field - McKendree University women's soccer (14-3-1, 10-3-1 GLVC) finished its regular season slate on Sunday with a Senior Day shutout, 1-0, over the Peacocks of Upper Iowa. The Bearcats claimed the 3-seed for the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament with the victory and are set to face the Prairie Stars of the University of Illinois Springfield, marking a 10th-straight conference tournament appearance. McKendree plays host for the quarterfinal match up with UIS at Leemon Field on Sunday, November 10 at 12:00PM. 

 The Bearcats looked to cap off a their regular season in a strong way while celebrating an outstanding senior class on Sunday and behind a late first half goal did just that. While dominating the ball, McKendree finally broke through in the 38th minute as a long possession found senior forward Anna Stiffler flicking the ball over to senior midfielder Reagan Mauch, who fired it into the net. The Bearcats held the 1-0 advantage at the arrival of the intermission  period. 

In the second half, the Bearcats still held the possession and attack advantage, firing 10 shots versus the Peacocks' three. McKendree held its advantage to keep the three points via the win and lock up the third seed for the conference championship.

McKendree faces off against sixth-seeded UIS, who they defeated 2-0 on October 18 at home. The Bearcats have won the last 10 outings versus the Prairie Stars and all seven battles at Leemon Field since 2008. Following the host-site first round, the GLVC Championship will transition to a neutral site tournament at Creve Coeur Park at the championship field of the complex.
