LEBANON, Ill. – Playing at home on the final weekend of the regular season, the Bearcats hosted the Lewis University Flyers on Thursday, February 29th at the Melvin Price Convocation Center. The Flyers walked away with the 87-81 win.
McKendree led by eight at the half, but faltered down the stretch and Lewis scored 52 points in the second half. As a team, the Bearcats shot 27-of-56 from the field for 48.2%. They also went 17-of-21 from the free throw line.
Milos Vicentic led the team with 26 points on 50% from the field. He also shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. They also had three other guys in double figures with Joey Niesman at 13 points. Carson Parker and Hayden Meakes chipped in with 12 points apiece.
Before the game, the program honored Kevin Stein and Milos Vicentic for achieving 1,000 career points in their college careers with a special ball recognizing them.
McKendree will honor four seniors before their last game of the regular season on Saturday, March 2nd when they host the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds at 3:00 p.m.
