FAYETTE, Iowa – Finishing off the weekend on a high note is exactly what the Bearcats accomplished on Saturday, February 3rd in Iowa. Playing in Dorman Gymnasium for the first-time, the Bearcats defeated the Upper Iowa University Peacocks by the slimmest of margins 81-80.
McKendree led by six at the break and battled the entire second half. UIU took the five point lead with four and a half minutes, but the Bearcats used an 11-1 run over the next four minutes to secure the road win.
Milos Vicentic had a game high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting. Carson Parker posted his third double-double in four games with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Stein had 15 points as well on 5-of-9 from the field. Caleb Zurliene used his athleticism to dominate the glass with 15 rebounds and four blocks. He chipped in eight points.
The Bearcats were above 50% from the floor as they went 31-of-56.
McKendree returns home on Thursday, February 8th at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Quincy University Hawks.
