LEBANON, Ill. | Bearcat Field - McKendree University softball (23-14, 6-4 GLVC) dropped a pair of contests on Saturday afternoon to the fifth-ranked UIndy, 3-0 and 4-2. The Bearcats battled through the end of each game but was unable to overcome earlier deficits against the Hounds. McKendree is back in action on April 6 and 7 at Maryville and Missouri S&T.
GAME 1 vs. No.5 UIndy
McKendree pushed to keep things rolling against the Greyhounds, as the Bearcats shutout UIndy in the last matchup in April of 2023, 7-0. The Bearcats and Hounds went scoreless over the first four innings with UIndy putting up a pair in the fifth to lead 2-0 after five. McKendree tallied two hits over the final two innings, unable to topple the league-leading Hounds.

GAME 2 vs. No.5 UIndy
The Bearcats stumbled early in the second game of the day, allowing two runs to the No.5 Hounds in the first inning, trailing 2-0 after the bottom half of the inning. Following the first, the game became a battle with McKendree tying it in the third behind a two-run shot by graduate infielder

Lauren Harris.
Game two continued and was tied through the sixth, looking to be going into extras. UIndy found a pair of runs to take a lead in the seventh, leading 4-2 before the Bearcats go back to the plate. McKendree put a runner on in the bottom half of the final inning but was unable to capitalize to put it into extras.

Paige McAllister (10-7) tossed the full game with three strikeouts.
