LEBANON, Ill – McKendree University women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season with a 12-5 victory over the William Jewell University Cardinals. 

Senior Olivia Julian got the day started with the lone goal of the first quarter and Bearcats led 1-0 after one quarter. 

The second quarter saw an explosion of goals as they tallied in 6 to the Cardinals 1. Sophomore Jayna Barnden tallied in 3 goals, junior Emma Rhines, fifth year senior Lexi Helms, and Julian all added in a goal as the Bearcats led 7-1 at the half. 

Despite not scoring in the third quarter, the Bearcats closed strong with 5 goals in the final quarter. Helms, Julian, and Barnden each added in one more, and freshmen Rylee Fox and Mackenzie Mackenzie Stroisch each scored to close out the home victory 12-5. 

The Bearcats are back in action at home, Sat. March, 9 at 5pm against Notre Dame College of Ohio.
