LEBANON, Ill. - Women's water polo junior goalie Sydney Kane was selected as the Western Water Polo Association Defensive Player of the Week announced by the league's office.
Kane earned her second weekly accolade, winning Defensive Player of the Week back in February.
Over the weekend at the WWPA Erie Classic, Kane had a total of 42 saves, a .600 save percentage, and a 9.33 goals against average. Kane tallied 17 saves in the clinching game against Gannon, her second-highest total of the season. Kane also secured 11 steals over the weekend.
Going into the conference tournament, Kane is tied leading the conference in saves with 257 saves. She also leads the conference in save percentage with .570.
The Bearcats are back in action on April 26 as they compete in the WWPA Championships in La Mirada, Calif.
