LIBERTY, Mo. - Mckendree University women's lacrosse defeated the William Jewell Cardinals 21-7. The 21 goals is the most scored in GLVC play by the Bearcats since April 27, 2021 when they scored 22 against Missouri Western State University.
The Bearcats struck first as junior Jenna Sugarman scored the first goal of the game at the 13:59 mark. There was no looking back as McKendree led 7-1 after the first.
After taking a 14-3 lead at the half, the Bearcats continued the scoring frenzy in the second half, closing out the game 21-7. The Bearcats never trailed and following the win currently rank 4th in GLVC.
Leading the scoring for the Bearcats was sophomore Jayna Barnden with 7, which ties her career high. Senior Olivia Julian and fifth year senior Lexi Helms both added in four goals. Junior Jenna Sugarman scored three, senior Lauren Fischer scored 2, and senior Riley Bishop scored one.
The Bearcats are back in action Sunday, April. 12 at Rockhurst University.
